Community Involvement
Inspired by our founder’s commitment to saving lives, and the ongoing effort to improve building safety, Won-Door Corporation also strives to fulfill its mission to support the needs of the community. Following are some of the ways Won-Door seeks to make a difference in the lives of others.
Adopt A Soldier. When District Manager, Will Saraceni, was called to serve his country in Iraq, Won-Door employees came together to offer support. During a recent national sales meeting, the sales team produced two uplifting and often hilarious video postcard greetings. Won-Door now sponsors six soldiers in the 11th Military Police Brigade, in addition to Will, who receive holiday cards, care packages, email greetings and words of encouragement.
Hale Centre Theatre. Hale Centre Theatre has been operating in Utah since 1985. In 1997, it moved to its current location in West Valley City, UT. Each season it stages seven productions – including dramas, comedies, and musicals – cast entirely from within the community using local artists. The opportunity to experience world-class theater remains affordable for all because of the support of generous individuals, corporations and foundations throughout the community.
Huntsman Cancer Foundation. Huntsman Cancer Foundation’s sole purpose is to fund the mission of Huntsman Cancer Institute at the University of Utah, which was created through the generosity of the Huntsman Family. Teams of research scientists, medical professionals and cancer educators are working to more fully understand the process of cancer, devise new ways to treat it and help patients fight their disease. By funding these efforts, the Huntsman Cancer Foundation helps relieve suffering and improve the quality of life for cancer patients, survivors and their families.
Scarecrow Festival. This yearly festival is an event for the entire family featuring games and competitions, rides, friendly animals, face painting, crafts and entertainment for young and old alike. Proceeds benefit the West Ridge Academy, helping troubled teens and their families by providing clinical services, education and experiences which promote spiritual awareness, personal accountability and change of heart.
