Won-Door SteelGuard™ + Fire
In addition to safeguarding occupants and property from forced entry, with the most robust folding security door on the market, you can now have a fire rating applied to Won-Door SteelGuard™ steel sliding security doors. Won-Door SteelGuard™ + Fire is capable of being labelled with a UL fire rating of 20/60, 90 or 180 minutes. Further strengthen your facility by using one product to satisfy two of your most important building needs – protection against fire and security threats. In accordance to IBC Chapter 1010.3.3, a receipt of a signal from a fire alarm will override security function, and enable the door to be egress compliant.
Won-Door SteelGuard™ Door Types
When the width of your strike wall is limited, a narrow leadpost on the Won-Door SteelGuard™ door provides a secure and robust seal with a 4” recess. The narrow leadpost also allows for curved track configurations with a radius as tight as 5’.

Can SteelGuard doors be integrated with any security system?
Yes. Won-Door’s patented, advanced electronic security system can receive a variety of signals from building management systems, including close, open, lock, unlock and panic signals.
At what speed can SteelGuard operate?
Secure a 10′ opening in under 7 seconds. Traveling at up to 18″/second, SteelGuard helps protect occupants and critical spaces during emergency situations.
How is egress achieved during a security event?
With SteelGuard in security mode, signals from the building’s master alarm will still be received. In the event of a fire signal, the exit device on the egress side of the steel sliding security door will be enabled, allowing for exiting along the egress path. However, the exit device on the ingress side of the security door will remain disabled, preventing further ingress to the building by bad actors.
How can Won-Door SteelGuard doors help with active shooter preparedness and threat containment?
Can a building occupant gain access by crawling under the door?
No. SteelGuard accordion security doors are equipped with internal anti-sway brackets that are designed to prevent this type of access.
Can the steel sliding security door maintain security mode during a total loss of building power?
Yes. Won-Door’s SteelGuard security door operates using battery backup in the event of power loss.
Can first responders and other authorized personnel operate the steel accordion security doors during a security event?
Yes. Credentialed access can be provided to authorized persons using a variety of third-party activating devices such as keyed switches, key cards/fobs or biometric readers, to name a few.
Can Won-Door’s SteelGuard security door also carry a fire rating?
Yes. SteelGuard, like Won-Door’s FireGuard products, can also carry fire ratings up to 180 minutes.
Does SteelGuard need a pocket cover door?
SteelGuard comes in two lead post configurations:
- The narrow lead post configuration can accept a pocket cover door, provided by others, at the face of the storage pocket.
- The flat lead post configuration on these steel sliding security doors doubles as your pocket cover door.
How can I best utilize these systems in an education occupancy?
Won-Door SteelGuard school sliding safety doors are used in several education applications and can be configured into specific zones: 1) to fortify openings around the perimeter of a building, 2) at strategic openings throughout the interior of a building and 3) to harden openings in the main entrance. Credentialed and remote access can be used to operate individual openings or entire zones.
